Barze Taylor Noles Lowther LLC Concludes Successful Summer Clerk Season
Barze Taylor Noles Lowther LLC summer associates Maddie Sanders and Hunter Myers have returned to the University of Alabama School of Law after completing six-week clerkships with BTNL. Both have accepted offers to return to the firm next summer.
Maddie and Hunter are now second year law students at Alabama. Prior to attending law school, Maddie received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at The University of Alabama, graduated summa cum laude, and was a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha and Sigma Tau Delta Honor Societies. This summer, she was selected to join the staff of the Alabama Law Review.
Hunter graduated summa cum laude from The University of Mississippi, where he was honored as a Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Like Maddie, he is also now a member of the Alabama Law Review’s staff.
“What I found most rewarding about my summer clerkship at BTNL was the opportunity to perform sophisticated work that served the needs of our clients,” Hunter said. “And I appreciated seeing work that I produced being sent to clients with my name included.”
“My summer clerkship with BTNL was extremely useful to me,” added Maddie. “Getting real experience and getting a glimpse of what it would actually be like in the legal profession was great. It affirmed to me that I do want to be a lawyer, and additionally helped me decide that defense is the route I think I want to go. It also helped me develop my writing skills and gave me more confidence in terms of writing. Going into the clerkship I did not think I was a good writer at all, and BTNL really helped me develop my skills.”
