BTNL Donates To India COVID Relief
Today, BTNL joined with other organizations and individuals around the world in donating to Direct Relief, an organization currently providing thousands of oxygen concentrators, requested medications, PPE, and financial resources for frontline health providers working to protect patients in India. A second wave of coronavirus infection is devastating India, leaving millions of people infected and putting stress on the entire country’s already exhausted health care system. Overwhelmed by new cases, Indian hospitals cannot cope with the demand for oxygen and supplies.
The pandemic’s ongoing surge in India hits home for BTNL. One of the firm’s first clients was Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd., based in Gujarat, India, and several of the firm’s other clients have general counsels or owners with family members in India.
Founding partner Bruce Barze said, “I have been fortunate to visit India twice and find it to be a vibrant and fascinating country with an incredible culture and history. My visits also cemented the solid friendships we enjoy with people in that amazing country. Given this personal connection, I have been very concerned for our friends and am happy BTNL can play a small part in helping India and her citizens overcome the extreme challenges presented by COVID-19. Hopefully, they will turn the corner soon.”
