BTNL LLC Welcomes 2022 Summer Clerks

Today, Taylor Holt, Murphy Barze, Elise Helton and Spencer Haynes joined Barze Taylor Noles Lowther LLC as the firm’s summer law clerks for the summer of 2022. During their clerkships, they will be exposed to all facets of BTNL’s legal practice and be able to put their studies of the last year(s) to practical use.

BTNL Summer Clerks

Taylor, a native of Madison, Alabama, is a rising third-year law student at The University of Alabama School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Taylor received a Bachelor of Science in Social Science at Troy University, graduated summa cum laude, and was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies. In law school, Taylor is a Senior Editor for the Alabama Law Review, serves on the school’s Moot Court Board, and is a member of the Jessup Moot Court Team.

Murphy, who calls Birmingham, Alabama home, is a rising third-year law student. He attends Washington & Lee University School of Law, in Lexington, Virginia. Prior to law school, Murphy graduated cum laude with a double major in History and Political & International Affairs from Furman University, where he was a member of Phi Alpha Theta and Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Societies. At W&L, Murphy serves as the Lead Articles Editor for The German Law Journal.

Elise, who hails from Alabaster, Alabama, is a rising second-year law student at the University of Alabama School of Law. Prior to law school, Elise graduated summa cum laude at The University of Alabama with a double major in Economics and English, and a minor in Chinese. As an undergraduate, she was a National Merit Scholar and Class of 2018 Blackburn Institute Fellow; in law school, she is a Junior Editor with the Alabama Law Review and the Treasurer of the Law & Economics Society.

Spencer is from Vestavia Hills, Alabama, and is a rising second-year law student at The University of Alabama School of Law. Prior to law school, he graduated from The University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. At UVA, Spencer earned Dean’s List honors and awarded the UVA Access Scholarship. In law school, he has been selected to be a Junior Editor on the Alabama Law Review.

“We look forward to the next six weeks with our summer associates,” says BTNL partner Jim Noles. “They are bright, motivated young people and we’re proud to have them as part of our team.”
