BTNL Partner Jim Noles Makes Ethics Presentation To The Birmingham Environmental Professionals Association
Today, BTNL partner Jim Noles was among the speakers who addressed the Birmingham Environmental Professionals Association at its quarterly meeting in Birmingham. The title of Noles’ presentation was “’Are You My Attorney?’: Independent Representation of Co-Defendants in Environmental Litigation.”
Noles’ talk focused on how Alabama Rule of Professional Conduct 1.7 allowed for joint representations, but only if certain criteria – to include informed consent – were met. He also discussed the various factors and issues that both attorneys and clients should consider when a joint representation was undertaken.
