BTNL Caps Successful Summer Recruiting Season

With offers from the firm in hand, summer associates Claire Elman and John David Mathews returned to the University of Alabama School of Law after completing six-week clerkships with Barze Taylor Noles Lowther LLC.

In 2025, both will return to BTNL.

Claire will return to BNTL in the fall of 2025 as a full-time associate. John David will return in the summer of 2025 as a 2L summer associate.

Before attending University of Alabama School of Law, Claire completed a joint degree program at William & Mary and University of St Andrews, graduating magna cum laude in International Relations. She is currently a Senior Editor for Alabama Law Review and a member of the Jessup International Law Moot Court team.

John David is a native of Athens, Alabama, and graduated summa cum laude from Auburn University with a degree in Business Administration. He is a 2L Senator of the Student Bar Association and a Junior Editor for The Journal of the Legal Profession.

BTNL managing partner, Spence Taylor, commented, “It is a privilege to have Claire joining us as a full-time associate next fall and John David returning to work with us as a summer associate in 2025. Both are outstanding law students with very bright futures. We are proud to be part of that and wish them the best in their 2024-25 law school year.”
